Devil’s Kitchen Geological Interest Area

You might think that Devil’s Kitchen Geological Interest Area is located among the famous red-rock formations of southern Utah. However, it is actually located in northern Utah, along the Nebo Loop Scenic Highway. The area is sometimes referred to as “mini-Bryce Canyon” because it’s hoodoos are similar to the formations found in Bryce Canyon National Park. The hoodoos form when the loosely compacted soil is eroded into hoodoos and spires.

  1. Awesome colors! I would love to join you on one of your excursions. Let me know if you ever want some company. Curtis

  2. That would be fun if you come with me sometime. I’d never heard of Devil’s Kitchen before. I just spotted it on the Utah Outdoors map that I bought.
